Perfect Murder CLASSIC

Our fully interactive Murder Mystery event

Our ‘Classic’ Murder Mystery is a totally interactive event.  Our actors will take pre-dinner drinks with your guests during which time they will introduce themselves and begin to set the scene of the chosen storyline.

The actors remain in character for the entire event and will encourage guests to interact with them, ask questions and take an active role in the story.  A murder happens in ‘real time’, before your very eyes; but is anyone keen-eyed enough to spot the killer?

The characters will dine with your guests and will move around the tables throughout the evening to ensure that everyone gets a chance to speak with each ‘suspect’, but be quick, there is a killer on the loose.  Please ensure that a place is available at each table for our actors!

The event is overseen by our resident mystery novelist and famed sleuth, Miss Janet Mapletree who ensures that everything runs smoothly, that people are asking the right questions and generally ensures that everyone is having a good time.

Towards the end of the evening, Conclusion Sheets are handed out to guests on which they can formulate their case against whoever they believe to be the guilty party.  Miss Mapletree will sum up, reveal the identity of the murderer and announce the winning team who will receive a glittering prize or perhaps a jar of Miss Mapletree’s award winning Jam.

Our storylines are carefully crafted to ensure that they will challenge even the keenest would-be detective, but our style is designed to entertain and we strive to ensure that all guests will have an enjoyable evening.

Sample Storylines – many more available

Below is a list of storylines that are available.  This is not exhaustive, but these examples have been chosen as being most suitable for the sort of event you are organising.

Where There’s A Will

1937.  Alfred Sidebottom, owner of Sidebottom String and Twine Co., is dead.  The family are called back to Dark Arches; the Victorian pile generations of Sidebottoms have called home, to attend his funeral.  The house holds many unhappy memories and for local people is the stuff of legend.  Strange happenings and unexplained sightings, things that go ‘bump’ in the night and of course, the eccentric Sidebottoms themselves hold an endless fascination to the inhabitants of Pokeingham-Softly-on-the-Wold.The notice was duly placed in The Times and the family will return to Dark Arches for the first time in many years.  The funeral is to be held on Friday 13th but surely no-one believes in that nonsense?

The Pokeingham Murders

1943 and everyone is pulling together for the war effort.

In Pokeingham-Softly-On-The-Wold, an event is planned that will surely have Mr Hitler shaking in his Lederhosen.  Florence Pokeingham, former Music Hall and silent movie star has decided to re-launch her career and take to the road to entertain the troops.

The reclusive Pokeingham sisters, Florence and Phyllis, are rarely seen in the village and so everyone is looking forward to the Gala Night to be held at Pokeingham Hall.  Florence has not performed since her accident and so this will be a very exciting night all round.

However, amidst all the fun and laughter there are dark forces at work.  You never know who you can trust these days.  Remember, walls have ears…

Death and Denial

The Year is 1939 and it is the ‘Last Night in England’ party for those about to board the Mauritania to take the Grand Tour.

The great and good of society are present and there is a culpable sense of excitement in the air.  Whilst the ship is loaded for the voyage and luggage is checked, the First Class passengers celebrate their final hours in Blighty with a party at the home of Major Charles Rootes-Lanchester, the former Viceroy of India who will act as their guide.

The talk is of far-off places and adventures under searing sun, ladies in crinoline and gentlemen in linen and pith helmets, but there is a problem closer to home.  A series of bizarre accidents and near-misses begin to subdue the excitement.  It must be coincidence.  Why would anybody want to prevent the Mauritania from sailing?

I’m Getting Married in the Mourning

The Story So Far…

It’s 1957, the war is a distant memory but times remain hard.  People try their best to maintain an ordinary life. A wedding is planned and everyone hopes for more than just good weather.

The guests at this wedding are anything but ordinary and the outcome of the day will be so disastrous, perhaps a thunder storm would have helped clear the air.

Weddings, presents, guests and Murder – you’ve never had it so good!

The School Reunion

Should we ever re-visit the past?  Does it really pay to discover what all our school friends are up to now?  Who invented a new type of paperclip?  Who married the Head Girl?  Who hates their former teachers and friends so much that they will stop at nothing to get even?

This School Reunion will make everyone question whether they really were the happiest days of our lives.

A Night at the BARFs

The annual award ceremony of the British Academy of Radio and Film (BARF) is always a glittering event.  With more stars than in the heavens, it’s the place to see and be seen.  This year, the Best Actor and Actress awards are hotly contested, but is anyone so desperate to win that they will stoop as low as Murder?

Join the stars of the British film industry’s most famous (or should that be infamous?) film studio as they wait to hear the results.
